I’m an engineer-turned-financial adviser specialising in aged care advice where I’ve found my true calling in helping families deal with the complexities of the aged care system.

I was born and raised in South Africa where I worked in engineering before bringing my family to Australia in 2007 in search of a different life and opportunities.

I joined RFS Advice in 2015, working with both the aged care and private net wealth teams before taking on the senior financial adviser role in the aged care advice team.

Today, I combine my work in wealth management for pre- and post-retirees with my deep experience in aged care.

The industry has become increasingly complex, and many well-intentioned families try to manage the process themselves. When they hand it over to our team, who do this daily, they avoid expensive mistakes and a lot of stress.

It’s an emotional time; we help families make rational, informed decisions. It’s a privilege to help them through this period and see them come out the other side, where their loved one is happy and settled.

People are often surprised to hear that I’m not just good with numbers; I can arc weld and have built a furnace from scratch. I participate in various local voluntary initiatives, including Aged Care We Care – which delivers gifts to lonely seniors in residential aged care at Christmas time.
